Are you using the desired lengths of the error bars for your custom values? The resulting Y error bars or X error bars are the same size and do not vary with each data point.Standard error displays the standard error amount for all plotted values. However, for me, all that clutter was useful stuff. It is way too time consuming to try and add error bars by row, mainly because I cannot drag straight across the row.
Oh, and heaven help you if, having carefully got it to work you inadvertently unclick the error bar checkbox before saving; you lose everything. The error bars are also drawn using all the error bar data at once: C2:C6 and D2:D6 for horizontal and E2:E6 and F2:F6 for vertical.
